describe of the tundra biome
Out of the 8 biomes in the world I'm going to be talking about the northern Canadian tundra, just off the tree line of the boreal forest and just below the ice caps of the arctic. Temperature can get very cold with long winters getting
to -21 degrees on a regular winter day, rarely getting as cold as -41 degrees. an average summer day could get up to 7 degrees and occasionally 18 to 20 degrees. The temperature will stay below zero for six too ten months of the year. in northern Canada the precipitation ranges from 150 too 250MM of rain each year.

the Inuit ways
The northern tundra are made up from some of the first people we call the Inuit people . the Inuit lived in a pretty harsh climate that they had to adapted too by making tools, gears and amazing ways to keep them alive. the word Inuit means "the people" . The Inuit
people are consider at the top of the food chain not because there dangerous people because of there skills and strategies and the way they live.

This picture is a climate graphs of the Canadian northern tundra showing how much it rains and the temperatures all year around. Is global warming affecting this land mass? if you were to ask me i would say yes why because of all the human activity, the greenhouse gases this two reason could extinct some or all of the northern tundra. other concern is the melting of the ice this could lead too dramatically landscape changes and could change what lives in the tundra. how does the location of the northern tundra affect its climate? The northern Canadian tundra is on the tops of mountains where the weather has heavy winds cold mostly all year around and very conman rainfall. |
the major cities in the northern tundra are Yellowknife, Whitehorse, Iqaluit. this large land mass has many landscape features that INCLUDE ANIMALS such as arctic fox, caribou, musk ox, lemming and polar bears. many of the PLANET life in the tundra grows between rocks kinda for a little shelter. some types of plants are grasses, lichens, and many different kinda's of flowers in the mass lands of the tundra. |
